OpenAI , G42 , and Microsoft lead pivotal conversations on building AI-powered societies at GITEX Global 2025  

The 45th edition of GITEX Global brings together the world’s leading technology and AI leaders to discuss and strategize the next phase of the transformation toward AI-powered national societies and enhance their readiness for the digital future. 

United Arab Emirates, Dubai, October 11, 2025 : GITEX GLOBAL 2025, the world’s largest technology and artificial intelligence (AI) event, will run from October 13 to 17 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. This event comes at a pivotal time when the world is witnessing a shift from fragmented AI adoption to comprehensive national AI strategies, where computing power, data, institutional readiness, and governance combine to drive economic and societal transformation . 

With global attention focused on the emergence of “AI nations,” OpenAI CEO Sam Altman is making his highly anticipated GITEX Global debut, participating alongside G42 CEO Peng Xiao in a key virtual panel discussion titled From Early Adopters to AI Natives: Envisioning the New Age of Intelligence.” 

The dialogue brings together two of the world’s most influential leaders in the evolution of artificial intelligence, offering pioneering insights into the transition from experimentation to full AI integration, and laying the foundations for building “AI-native” communities. 

The GITEX and G42 AI Indigenous Communities Program also expands the discussion to include strategic alliances and structures . Senior executives from Core42 and the US-UAE Business Council will participate in the sessions, highlighting the 5-gigawatt UAE-US AI Park project , the largest AI infrastructure outside the United States . 

Discussions will also address smart infrastructure and the future global intelligence network, with the participation of leaders from G42, OpenAI, Microsoft, Cisco, Oracle, Khazna Data Center, and Cerebras. 

The focus then shifts to real-world applications, with the leadership team from the Abu Dhabi Government Services Platform “TAMM” – Department of Government Empowerment, along with Presight, Core42, OpenAI, Inception, AIQ, and the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, showcasing how governments, industries, and educational institutions are implementing AI on a large scale . 

Power Agenda: The Geopolitics of Artificial Intelligence and Its Economic Impact 

The GITEX GLOBAL 2025 conference program presents the largest gathering of its kind, including ministers, policymakers, CEOs, founders, and investors from over 180 countries, in a series of summits that address geopolitics and sovereignty in AI, the prospects of quantum computing, cross-sector AI applications, investment priorities, and cyber resilience in the age of AI. 

This momentum is underpinned by a massive showcase of over 6,800 technology companies, 2,000 startups, over 40 billion-dollar companies, and 1,200 investors managing over $ 1.1 trillion in assets. This makes the discussions on the platforms highly influential in shaping future strategies, business transformations, alliances, and the economic forces reshaping the global technology industry . 

Ekaterina Zaharieva, European Commissioner for Startups, Research and Innovation, will open the sessions by discussing Europe’s quest to transform its deep tech dominance into a strategic economic powerhouse, while His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism, will address how to recalibrate economic strategies in light of the shift towards artificial intelligence . 

High-level discussions continue with the participation of His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications in the UAE, and His Excellency Evan Solomon, Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation in Canada—the country’s first Minister of Artificial Intelligence—through a session titled The Superintelligence Cycle .” 

During the session, leaders will review how countries are investing in artificial intelligence as a tool to enhance their resilience to economic fluctuations and consolidate their position as global digital leaders . 

Directing capital flows towards national leadership 

With investment bank UBS estimating that AI funding will reach $ 375 billion by 2025, key questions arise about the geopolitical influence of these investments . 

In a keynote session at GITEX GLOBAL 2025, Victor Gao, President of the China Energy Security Institute and a leading expert on international affairs, will meet with Dr. Jörg Goschen, CEO of KfW Capital , Europe’s largest state-backed venture capital fund with a € 2.5 billion mandate, for an in-depth discussion on the new economic geography of investment and how capital is being used as a tool of technological and strategic power .

In this context, Peter Koerte, Chief Technology Officer and Chief Strategy Officer at Siemens, provides a comprehensive vision on how to transform the complexities of industrial AI into a true competitive advantage . 

Meanwhile, Zulfi Alam, Executive Vice President of Quantum Affairs at Microsoft (US), shifts the discussion toward human capital, explaining how academia, government, and businesses must collaborate to build a workforce prepared for the quantum computing era.

The World Economic Forum’s Global Cybersecurity Trends 2025 report revealed that hackers are increasingly using generative artificial intelligence (AI) to carry out advanced phishing attacks and develop malicious code, with the average number of weekly attacks increasing by 58 % over the past two years . 

His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Al Kuwaiti, Chief Cybersecurity Officer of the UAE Government, will discuss the role of artificial intelligence in protecting public service infrastructure and the country’s strategy to secure a $500 billion digital economy with a 99 % connectivity rate.
