Background
Honeywell Technologies has completed its acquisition of Johnson Matthey’s Catalyst Technologies business for £1.325 billion in an all-cash deal, strengthening its portfolio across refining, petrochemicals and renewable fuels.
The acquisition gives Honeywell Technologies a more complete, end-to-end offering for energy and process technology customers, building on its existing automation and digital solutions. The company said the deal also expands its global installed base and its ability to serve a wider range of applications.
Ken West, President and CEO of Process Technology at Honeywell Technologies, said the acquisition strengthens the company’s ability to deliver end-to-end solutions that help customers cut emissions and improve efficiency. He said combining Johnson Matthey’s catalyst expertise with Honeywell Technologies’ existing technologies creates a platform for future growth.
The purchase follows Honeywell Technologies’ separation of its Aerospace Technologies business, now operating independently as Honeywell Aerospace, and its earlier spin-off of Solstice Advanced Materials in 2025.
Since 2023, Honeywell Technologies has completed roughly $11.5 billion in acquisitions, including Compressor Controls Corporation, SCADAfence, Carrier Global’s Access Solutions business and Air Products’ LNG business.
The company also divested its Personal Protective Equipment business in 2024 and plans to sell its Productivity Solutions and Warehouse and Workflow Solutions businesses later this year.
Honeywell Technologies serves the building, industrial and process sectors, supported by its Accelerator operating system and Forge intelligence layer, and employs more than 50,000 people worldwide.
