Background-

Light Science Technologies Holdings has secured £800,000 of additional business within its passive fire protection division, building on continued momentum since its previous trading update.

The fire safety and food security technology group said the new work includes further orders and invoiced sales of its Injectaclad cavity fire barrier system through its installer network.

The company’s in house installation business, Injecta Fire Barrier, has also secured two further contracts, located in Birmingham and Leicester. The Leicester project has been approved by the Building Safety Regulator. These new projects add to existing installations already underway in Hull and Liverpool.

The division now supplies or carries out fire protection work across a wide range of buildings, including high rise residential properties, hotels, schools and social housing throughout the UK.

The progress follows a recent market update from the company highlighting developments within the UK fire safety and building remediation sector.

Chief executive Simon Deacon said securing approximately £0.8 million of further business reflects continued commercial momentum within the division. He said the company is making progress across both parts of its strategy, with growing Injectaclad sales through its installer network alongside additional projects secured by its own installation team.

Deacon added that the increasing number and range of projects now using Injectaclad strengthens confidence in the opportunity ahead for the division.
