Volvo has unveiled a refreshed version of its best-selling XC60, featuring both aesthetic and technological upgrades. This update comes as the brand prepares for the launch of its electric counterpart, the EX60, and aims to maintain the appeal of the popular SUV.
Externally, the XC60 showcases several changes, including a new front grille inspired by the XC90, along with darker rear lights. New wheel designs are also introduced, although the specific UK configurations are still to be confirmed.
Inside, the XC60 now boasts a more modern and refined cabin. The centerpiece of the interior is an upgraded 11.2-inch infotainment touchscreen, which is positioned higher on the dashboard for better visibility and ease of use. Powered by an advanced Qualcomm chip, the system delivers improved responsiveness, with Volvo claiming the interface is twice as quick as its predecessor and offers sharper graphics.
The cabin’s luxury has also been enhanced with premium materials, including upholstery options combining Nordico synthetic leather and herringbone-pattern fabric. Additionally, sound insulation and refinement have been improved for a quieter, more comfortable ride. Powertrain options remain unchanged, with the XC60 offering a 248bhp mild-hybrid variant, along with two plug-in hybrid models delivering 345bhp and 449bhp. For models equipped with coil-sprung suspension, new dampers have been introduced to enhance ride comfort, while air suspension setups remain unchanged.
Pricing for the updated XC60 is expected to be slightly higher than the current model, which starts at £46,115. Deliveries are slated to begin between July and September 2025. Although the arrival of the all-electric EX60 is imminent, the updated XC60 ensures that the petrol and hybrid versions will remain available for the foreseeable future, catering to a diverse range of customer preferences. This update reflects Volvo’s strategy of evolving its hybrid models in tandem with the transition to full electrification, aligning with the varied pace of market acceptance and infrastructure readiness.
