Commvault has announced two senior leadership appointments aimed at strengthening its growth strategy and improving customer operations. The company has named Gary Merrill as chief financial officer and Geoff Haydon as president of customer and field operations. Both appointments take effect immediately and report to CEO Sanjay Mirchandani.

The company said Merrill returns to the CFO role after previously serving in the same position between 2022 and 2024. He has worked with the organization for over two decades and held multiple finance leadership roles, including chief commercial officer. During his earlier tenure as CFO, he helped improve financial operations and supported the company’s shift toward a subscription and SaaS-based model.

Haydon will lead global customer and field operations, overseeing sales, partnerships, and customer support functions. He previously worked as chief executive of cybersecurity firm Ontinue and also held senior leadership roles at VMware and Secureworks. He brings experience in cybersecurity, global markets, and customer operations. He will step down from the company’s board to take up this executive position.

The company said the leadership changes are intended to support disciplined financial execution and improve customer experience. It added that the appointments will help strengthen long-term growth and operational performance.
